The number of Vision Hospital Group day surgeries across Australia has grown to eleven, with the addition of Boroondara Day Surgery in Victoria.
Vision Hospital Group CEO Amanda Cranage says the site is currently being refurbished and expected to be operational in September. ‘Boroondara Day Surgery expands our offering in Melbourne, with patients now able to access a range of day procedures at five locations across the city.’
Situated in the leafy, inner eastern suburb of Hawthorn, Boroondara Day Surgery will initially focus on ophthalmic surgery. This decision followed extensive consultation and balances the needs of relevant stakeholders, says Ms Cranage.
Like other Vision Hospital Group facilities, Boroondara Day Surgery will feature world-class technology and equipment that support best-practice techniques, adds Mr Greg Brown, General Manager of Day Hospitals.
Mr Brown says the day surgery will appeal to surgeons and patients looking for a bespoke, high-end experience.
‘It’s in a highly sought-after, inner-city location close to cafes, parks, public transport and the Yarra River,’ he says. ‘Within the expansive premises are a private admission room, bright and spacious operating theatre, on-site central sterile supply department, large two-stage recovery area and several consulting rooms.
‘But then we also have designer features and other premium fixtures and fittings in the reception and patient waiting room areas. It’s touches like these that elevate Boroondara Day Surgery to the next level.’
Ms Cranage is excited about the future of Vision Hospital Group, as it continues to go from strength to strength. ‘We are incredibly thrilled with this acquisition and look forward to partnering with surgeons to continue delivering exceptional patient care.’
