Windsor Gardens Day Surgery

In the heart of Adelaide’s northern suburbs, a revolution in ophthalmic care is unfolding at Windsor Gardens Day Surgery. Ophthalmologist Dr Soo Ng shares an insider’s perspective on what makes this operating facility a cut above the rest.

They say first impressions count, which was certainly the case for Dr Ng when he followed a colleague’s recommendation and visited Windsor Gardens Day Surgery four years ago.

‘I knew this was a premium facility as soon as I walked in,’ Dr Ng says. ‘The entire place is spacious, modern and clean – from the building entrance and reception to the change room, theatres and recovery area. It has the latest, state-of-the-art technology and instruments to perform ophthalmic surgery.’

More importantly, the clinical and administrative teams are second to none, he says. ‘If I had to choose, I would say the best thing about Windsor Gardens is its people. They always go above and beyond to make sure the process flows smoothly for patients and surgeons.

‘Every operating session runs very efficiently and is relaxing for me as a surgeon, even when dealing with some of the very complex eyes. This allows me to focus on providing the best of care to my patients. As a matter of fact, I always look forward to my operating sessions here.’

Dr Ng says there is nothing to fault at Windsor Gardens Day Surgery. ‘Everything has been excellent – the initial onboarding, workplace culture, patient safety and care, roster flexibility. Even their fees for uninsured patients and pensioners are better than other sites. The support they provide is comprehensive.’

Patients also appreciate the facility’s convenient location and availability of on-site parking, he says. ‘Those who live in the northern suburbs save a lot of time by avoiding a trip all the way into the city. But I even have patients on the south side of Adelaide who prefer to come here due to the ease of parking. It’s one less thing for them to worry about.’

And just recently, one of Dr Ng’s cataract surgery patients made history by becoming the 10,000th patient to be operated on at Windsor Gardens Day Surgery – a memorable moment for all.

‘Of all the sites I have operated in, Windsor Gardens Day Surgery is by far the best and my preferred location. I definitely recommend it.’
