RiverCity Private Hospital does not have an on-site cafeteria; however, there are several cafés across the other side of Milton Road, within easy walking distance.

RiverCity Private Hospital offers a wide range of day surgery procedures in Brisbane across two main specialties.

Our ophthalmology services include:

• cataract surgery
• vision correction (refractive) surgery
• minimally invasive glaucoma surgery
• vitreoretinal surgery, pterygium surgery and intravitreal eye injections, among others.

Our pain management procedures include:

• diagnostic injections
• radiofrequency neurotomy
• spinal cord stimulation and epidural injections.

All procedures are performed by specialist surgeons in a fully accredited, purpose-built day surgery environment.

You can generally expect to be at RiverCity Private Hospital for approximately 2 to 3 hours on the day of your procedure. This includes your admission, the procedure itself and your time in the recovery room.

A nurse will monitor your recovery and provide written post-operative care instructions before you are discharged.

On the day of your procedure, please bring:

• Your Medicare card
• Your health fund card
• Any outstanding paperwork or your completed admission form
• Current medications in their original containers
• Payment for any out-of-pocket expenses (we accept EFTPOS, direct deposit and major credit cards, excluding AMEX and Diners)

Please wear loose, comfortable clothing and flat, closed-in shoes. Avoid wearing makeup, face cream, nail polish or jewellery. If you are having eye surgery, wash your face for 3 minutes on the morning of your procedure using your usual face soap and do not wear any face makeup, including mascara.

Yes. We recommend contacting your health fund before your procedure to confirm your level of cover. Any expenses not covered by your health fund will be payable on the day of surgery. We accept cash, cheque, EFTPOS, direct deposit and all major credit cards, with the exception of AMEX and Diners.

We offer visiting surgeons high-quality theatre management, with a focus on ensuring efficiencies in service through well-designed patient flows and quality systems and processes.

RiverCity Private Hospital also offers visiting surgeons the option to consult privately. Our facilities include waiting and sub-waiting areas to provide privacy and assist with patient flow, in-house administrative support and on-site pathology services.

Our consulting suites are available for permanent sub-lease or for leasing on a sessional basis, with theatre privileges. Additional services such as reception and patient invoicing are available. Alternatively, surgeons may prefer to utilise their own practice staff.
